OUR MISSION:
Eliminate global hunger & reduce health issues related to unhealthy eating.
While about 1 billion go hungry, 2 billion suffer from obesity and other health issues related to unhealthy eating. TABLE FOR TWO USA seeks to change both issues by educating about healthy eating practices and providing healthy school meals to those in need.
Our Programs
A Vision Worth Striving Towards
A Vision Worth Striving Towards
Globally chronic hunger and malnutrition are on the rise. At the same time, our world faces rapidly increasing overweight and obesity levels. TABLE FOR TWO USA aims to eliminate global hunger and reduce health issues related to unhealthy eating through innovative social programs.
TFT Meal Sharing
Our innovative “Meal Sharing” program tackles obesity and hunger at the same time. We partner with corporations and organizations to provide healthier options in cafeterias, restaurants, food trucks, and vending machines. $.25 from the proceeds will be donated to providing school meals in areas of need throughout the world. We support schools in East Africa as well as low income communities in the United States.
Onigiri Action
Onigiri Action is an annual social good campaign connecting the simple act of taking a photo with helping to feed school children in need. Every time someone takes a photo of a Japanese rice ball and posts with #OnigiriAction or posts on the campaign website five school meals are donated to children in need around the world. Since its launch in 2015, the Onigiri Action campaign has fed millions of children.
Wa-Shokuiku
Our Wa-Shokuiku curriculum offers Japanese-inspired food education lessons for K-12 students in the United States. Wa-Shokuiku combines the Japanese words “Washoku (和食)” which refers to Japanese food and, “Shokuiku (食育)”, food education. It is a series of hands-on classes on Japanese food and food culture. The online version is also available to reach more students.
#EdamameChamp
#EdamameChamp is our newly launched campaign to promote healthy eating through Japanese cuisine focusing on soy in order to raise funds for teaching healthy eating to more children. Our partner organizations donate based on the number of #EdamameChamp event participants and #EdamameChamp photos posted.
OUR IMPACT:
We feed healthy school meals to children in need across the United States and East Africa. To help counter increasing rates of obesity, we also teach young American students about the principles of Japanese food culture by providing hands-on and online learning about using local ingredients to prepare food to help combat increasing rates of obesity.
80+ million
School meals served
School meals have been provided to children in East Africa and the U.S. Especially for low-income students, healthy school lunches are critical to health and academic performance. At the schools in the U.S. we support, the majority of students come from low income families with over 80% qualifying for free or reduced-price school lunches.
*Over 80 million school meals have been delivered through TFT International and TFT USA.
8+ years
Serving OUR communities
We have been supporting local communities in the U.S. in New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, Rhode Island, Los Angeles, San Diego and more since our launch. With local organizations around the U.S., we have also been able to expand the reach of our educational programs to libraries, museums, community centers, and more.
500+ classes

Since the launch of the Wa-Shokuiku program in 2017, we have provided this unique program to over 7,000 students and parents in major cities in the U.S. through 500+ classes by partnering with schools, libraries, Girl Scouts of America, Smithsonian Museum, Hello Kitty, Children's Museum of Manhattan, Tanaka Farms and more.
